Silver Spoon

‘Some are born with a silver spoon in their mouth’. I am confused whether it is blessings or a curse because the silver spoon is so stuck in their mouth that they can not get rid of it even if they wish to.

A man born in a poor family got immediate success in his adolescence that he became a billionaire by the time he reached the age of 30 years. There are number of example in the present age- the promoters of Googles, Facebook, WhatsApp, Microsoft and Apple etc who have shot like the shining stars in no time.

After reaching the zenith of his success at the age of 45, one of the above similar personalities got fed up with the high profile routine, going in planes, big cars, five star hotels, meetings etc and he decided to leave everything and to enjoy a free and careless life. He donated his entire wealth in charity and went to a hill top near a very remote village in the Himalyas with the intention to concentrate and meditate, away from the hustle-bustles and busy life of big cities. Villagers downside were very impressed that a person from another continent had come to meditate to achieve the divinity. The person was having only two dresses and was living entirely on fruits, raw vegetable, fresh air in the vicinity of green landscape adopting a strict daily routine.

One day he saw a rat nibbling his dress. He climbed down and requested the villagers for a cat so that rats do not spoil his clothes and also his concentration. Considering the man having come with a noble aim to attain divinity and he be not disturbed in his meditation, villagers very promptly and willingly offered him a cat.

The cat after eating all the rats had nothing to fill its stomach and was starving. The noble person again went to the villagers with a request for a cow so that cat could be fed the milk. The villagers showed their benevolence since the demand was devoid of any selfishness. The cow gave milk in excess of the requirement for the cat and the remaining milk was being consumed by the noble person.

Living in the mountains, enjoying fresh air, eating fruits and fresh vegetables, drinking milk, practicing Yoga and meditation, the noble person had become younger bubbling in the prime youth. His face radiated illuminance and his hair lustrous glow. One day, a beautiful girl from the village came to the hilltop to collect some wood, getting mesmerized with his youth requested him to allow her to take care of his household so that the noble person can concentrate on his meditation.

After three years on the hilltop, the noble man was having a beautiful wife, two lovely kids, a thousand cows, a few orchards, many ashrams spread over India and thousands of devotees waiting in queue to have darshan in the ‘Temple of Silver Spoon’.
